"I have been very happy with our tutor, she is very prompt and responds well to ever-changing needs and strengths. My son recently placed very well in a US-based essay competition and I credit her with helping his writing style and giving him confidence."

11+ CAT FAMILIARISATION COURSE
Course Dates: 19th - 22nd February (Half-Term)
10am-1pm Emmanuel Church, NW6
This course is designed for pupils on Y5 who will be sitting the CAT papers for the London Consortium Girls’ Schools in 2020.
Over 4 mornings, Victoria will introduce students to the following keyaspects of the CATs:
1. Non-verbal reasoning
2. Verbal reasoning and vocabulary building
3. Numerical reasoning and multiple-choice comprehension
4. Group and individual interviews
The aim of these sessions will be to familiarise pupils with the content and style of the CAT assessments, to build confidence and understanding of the skills involved, and to suggest ways to prepare effectively over the next year.
Puzzles and problems will be incorporated into the teaching to ensure that the course is fun and inspiring. The final morning - our interview morning - will include some 'apprentice-style' tasks to promote collaboration and ingenuity!
There will be no mock exams during this course, as the participants will still be a year away from the assessment process. Parents will, however, be emailed some advice related to ongoing preparation and resources.
